and enterprise software applications and web-based subscription
services.
Meyar Sheik, CEO & Co-founder
Meyar Sheik co-founded Certona as its CEO & President in January of 2004. Meyar is a seasoned software industry executive with over 23 years of experience. Since 2000, Meyar was an early web analytics pioneer working with some of the largest sites on the Internet in the areas of web analytics, e-commerce, personalization and real-time optimization.
Prior to Certona Corporation and from early 2000, Meyar was the CMO and COO of WebSideStory, a leader in web analytics solutions which is now part of Omniture.
Prior to that, Meyar was the Vice President of Worldwide Marketing and Strategic Alliances for the NYC-based Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) software vendor SuperNova, Inc., where he orchestrated the sale of the company to Seattle-based WRQ, an established enterprise software company.
Meyar has also held senior product management and marketing positions at Proginet Corp, an Enterprise Security software company he helped take public in 1996 and Legent Corporation, a $500 million enterprise systems management software company acquired by Computer Associates in 1995. Earlier in his career, Meyar held senior sales management positions in Analytics software products with Asyst Software Technologies and Macmillan Software, a division of the Macmillan Publishing Company.
Meyar has a BS in Electrical Engineering from New York Institute of Technology and an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Geoffrey Hueter, Ph.D., Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Hueter leads the invention of the company’s innovative
proprietary technologies. Prior to founding Certona,
Dr. Hueter was the President of Far Point Technology, which
provided software design and development services to a variety
of local San Diego businesses.
Previously, Dr. Hueter was Staff
Scientist and Director of Automated Inspection at HNC Software,
Inc., where he managed the development and commercialization
of QualityPlus™, an intelligent machine vision system, including
joint development with an international partner.
Dr. Hueter also managed several other analytics projects,
including several SBIRs for neural network control systems.
Dr. Hueter holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of
California at San Diego, where he studied gamma-ray bursts
and was part of the team that developed the Gamma Ray
Observatory. While at UCSD, Dr. Hueter also studied neural networks
with industry pioneers Robert Hecht-Nielsen and Bart Kosko.
Dr. Hueter is the author of over a dozen
papers on astrophysics, neural networks, and numerical modeling.
Steven Quandt, VP of Software Development
Steven leads the definition of the product architecture,
including software and database design and development. Steven
has over 23 years experience in software development, including
user interface, database, and client/server computing for
the Windows and UNIX environment.
For the past 10 years Steven has consulted on many software
projects including sales force automation for GE Appliance
Park, financial reporting and budgeting for Frazee Paint,
telemedicine for Vidimedix, and Point of Sale for The UPS
Stores.
Prior, Steven spent 7 years in software development at SAIC
and 6 years at HNC Software, Inc., where he was a key member
of the teams that developed HNC’s Connect award winning
ExploreNet™ and Data Modeling Workstation™ software
products.
Steven graduated with a B.A. in Physics from the University
of California at Santa Cruz. Steven is a Microsoft Certified
Professional.
